CHRISTMAS TREE SALE (TENT)
ONE 60' X 90 TENT FOR SEASONAL SALES XMAS TREES AND FIREWOOD. SET UP 11/08/2018 AND TEAR DOWN 12/27/2018.
PROPERTY MUST BE FREE OF ALL TENTS AND DEBRIS 12/31/2018.
PERMIT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE EVENT OR MISC. STRUCTURES.
FRONT SETBACK IS 50 FEET FROM PROPERTY LINE.
MAY NOT OBSTRUCT FIRE LANE, HANDICAP ACCESS, MANDATORY PARKING, STREET TRAFFIC, RIGHT OF WAY, OR VISIBILITY(VAM).
ALL AIRBORNE DEVICES (FLAGS, PENNANTS, BALLOONS, ETC.) ARE PROHIBITED.
MAY MOUNT ONE BANNER NOT TO EXCEED 48 SQ FT TO ONE TENT.
MUST MAINTAIN 30 FOOT CLEARANCE AROUND TENT IN ALL DIRECTIONS.
SMOKING PROHIBITED IN ENCLOSED SPACES AND SMOKING REGULATED PER ORDINANCE #06-11-018.
NO ACCESSORY STRUCTURES (INCLUDING, SHEDS, PODS, ETC.) ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY.
ELECTRICAL SERVICE NOT INCLUDED IN SEASONAL SALE OR TENT PERMIT.
ELECTRICAL PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR TEMPORARY POWER AND ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS AT THE PREMISES. ELECTRICAL WORK REQUIRES INSPECTION.
ANY/ALL FOOD PROVISIONS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE HEALTH AND FOOD SAFETY DEPARTMENT UNDER SEPARATE PERMIT.

1. An inspection from the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Building Department is required prior to occupancy. Please call the Fire Marshal’s Office at 972-292-6328, when the tent and equipment are set and ready for inspection.
2. Tent cannot obstruct the fire lane or vehicular traffic flow.
3. Need to post the occupant load sign – The occupant load for the tent cannot exceed 90 people based on the size of the tent.
4. Need to provide a minimum of (2) exits spaced at equal intervals around the perimeter of the ten t. Minimum width of each exit is 72 inches wide. Exit openings must comply with the 2015 IFC Chapter 24. Aisle widths and exits shall be maintained per the 2015 IFC and IBC.
5. Illuminated exit signs shall be provided over each required exit.
6. The means of egress shall be illuminated with light having an intensity of not less than 1 foot candle at the floor level while the structure is occupied. The means of egress illumination fixtures shall be supplied from a separate circuit or source of power.
7. Two sources of power shall be provided.
a. One source of power must be from an approved emergency system.
b. System must be installed in accordance with the ICC Electrical Code.
c. If supplied, the generator will need to be placed a minimum of 20 ft from tent.
8. Need to provide (2) 2A:10B:C “ABC” fire extinguisher.
a. The fire extinguisher must have a current inspection tag.
b. The fire extinguisher shall be placed in the path of egress and mounted so that its top is not more than 5 feet above the floor.
9. Need to provide and post a “NO SMOKING” sign on all (4) sides of the interior and exterior of the tent structure.
10. Smoking, open flames or cooking is not permitted under tent structures.
11. Heating equipment, if installed, will need to comply with the International Fuel Gas Code, the International Mechanical Code, ICC Electrical Code, and approved by the fire code official.
a. Heating equipment shall not be located within (10) feet of exits or combustible material.
b. LP Gas containers less than 500 gallons or less shall have a minimum separation between the container and structures of not less than (10) feet.
12. A 3ft clearance must be maintained between goods/stock and the sides of the tent.
13. The tent floor and a 30 ft perimeter around the tent shall be kept clear of combustible wast. Need to remove pine needles and other combustible throughout the day.
14. Must meet all the minimum requirements of the International Fire and Building Code.
15. Additional requirements may be required when a site inspection is conducted.
